This is going to sound dumb. Be kind; I've never used SVN...

I installed TortoiseSVN (WinXP box). I want to get the latest version of the Slimserver code into a directory structure on my machine. Local directory structure is named:

C:\SVN\Slimserver\Trunk

and I want to get the "Server" directory downloaded from:

http://svn.slimdevices.com/trunk/server/

I thought I would simply do this:

In Explorer, right-click on "Trunk" subdirectory and select

"SVN Checkout..."

In the dialog box, enter
"http://svn.slimdevices.com/trunk/server/"
into the field
"URL of repository"

and enter
"C:\SVN\SlimServer\trunk"
into the field
"Checkout directory"

This gives me the following errors:

Error: PROPFIND request failed on '/trunk/server'
Error: PROPFIND of '/trunk/server': 301 Moved (http://svn.slimdevices.com)

What am I doing wrong? Do I need to create a "local repository" on my machine? I thought that the only "repository" was on the server side (svn.slimdevices.com)

Thanks! Dave

try this:
http://svn.slimdevices.com/repos/slim/trunk

as per:
http://www.slimdevices.com/dev_resources.html
(in case I've missed other details you may need soon)

Thank you, Kevin, that worked; it's grabbing a copy now. Funny, I _did_ look at the subversion info in dev_resources...just missed the minor detail with the "repos" in the path;) (When you go to http://svn.slimdevices.com, repos is not listed in the dir structure.)

Thanks again, Dave

That is correct - ViewCVS hides that from you.
