Fishbone doesn't seem to have the option to delete a playlist anymore, so I switched to default skin, deleted the playlist and then got this crash:

news to me. the button should be right beside the playlist title box
at the top when you browse a playlist.

I just get rename and edit - I am using the 'tan' style with left justified buttons and the browse a playlist page is still the 'old' style. Have I messed something up?

I like the album artwork under browse artists btw, not so sure about album artwork under browse albums - but I'm getting used to it!

oh, sounds like you are using the modified version from the forum. A lot has
changed since that was posted. The server had some changes to help deliver
artwork to more browse modes (not sure how you are seeing any artwork for
brwose artist). The latest for the skin on the server, is still right
justified buttons, but they are done in a block, so the mods would only require
moving [% browselinks %]. I haven't found a reliable way to make that
configurable yet.

not sure how you are seeing any artwork for
brwose artistWell strictly I mean when you select an artist under browse artist.

I'll delete the fishbone dir before my next svn update, and see what it really should look like.

Thanks.

right, yes, in the modified version, the skin would show any cover art available
in an album context. Descending an artist link goes to the list of albums.

strange that it wasn't overwritten if you use the same directory name. Are you
sure you haven't got it saved in a different directory and selected that skin?

Well I did that and now I can't get fishbone to work properly at all. None of the 'browse' dropdownboxes does anything so I'm stuck on Browse Albums at the moment. Is there something else I need to clear out?

I'm not totally sure. I can't say I have thought about this upgrade path. Try
doing a full browser reload a few times (or shift-reload) to try to bounce the
old stuff out of the cache. You might also try clearing the cookies
(SlimServer-* and Fishbone-*).

No I can't get this working at all.

I've cleared cache and cookies, deleted /home/slimserver/usr/local/slimserver/HTML/Fishbone and /usr/local/slimserver/server/HTML/Fishbone, updated svn and restarted.

On IE I get an error:
Line 95
Char 1
Error Object expected
Code 0
URL http//musicserver:9000/home.html?player=&page=browsedb.html?
heirarchy=album,track&level=0&page=BROWSE_BY_ALBUM

On Fishbone I get nothing: the top left pane only actually loads about 1 in 10 times, but even then I can never get to a different browse view.

The default skin seems fine.

Is the svn corrupt?

not that I'm aware of. IE is working fine for me. What is at "line 95"? I
always assume those reports refer to the resulting source, so you'd have to
'view source' on that frame (probably the top left). Odd that there is no
player ID in that url, however. Does it help if you change players from the
right side?

IE and Opera are working for me with with 4144 (9/1 nightly).

I too have experienced the same, or similar problems, many times when changing skins (in fact, just two days ago with the 8/25 nightly). I do not believe the cache and document expiration is correct in the code for the various frames and elements. In the past, I've cleared IEs cache including offline content, removed the slim cookies, removed slim's Cache folder to no resolution. Somes the problems just seemt to fix themselves in a short amount of time (document expiration?). It doesn't seem to be tied directly to the 10 second auto-update. Other times, playlists show up as a list of text URLs and not rendered pages. Only clearly the playlist solves this problem. And still other times images are duplicated, missing, or skins are intermixed with previous / current skin selections.

I typically use Opera, but I test problems on IE and Firefox as well. The problems frequently go away when I switch broswers, but not always. Kdf and I discussed such problems back when he made changes to the Fishbone skin. The problems do not appear to be isolated to IE - the same occurs with the 3 browsers. But it is very random. Once the problem occurs, its a challenge to resolve, and feels like resolution requires voodoo rather than a known set of steps based upon problem understanding.

Thanks for the replies. I won't have time to look at this again for a couple of days, so hopefully it will have sorted itself out by then!

I deleted the whole HTML directory and updated via subversion - and it's back working now.

I don't get the album covers with the album names, in the expanded artist view, anymore though - which is a shame!

I don't have them in the server version of the skin. I'm trying to
decide if I want to go through the pain of having to deal with requests
to have them on left/right with artists and selectable size. Frankly,
my only real desire is to have them as a fixed 'icon' size. But, I'm
also toying with a pulldown option: Browse Albums w/ Artwork, so that
you could choose via url whether you want art or not.
