Scan Frequency / Option to stop scan

How often does slimserver rescan my music dir?
Is there anyway to stop a scan in progress?
I've got my slimserver running on a pretty low-end server... and the performance goes to pot when scanning... I'd prefer it not to scan while I'm playing music.

it only scans when a change in itunes/moodlogic/musicmagic is detected
(which scan only their own libraries), or the database schema changes
and requires a new scan. You can also schedule it, or it will scan a
new folder if you use Browse Music Folder and it finds new tracks. It
should not be overly often if you stick with one version and are not
adding tracks often or using itunes/musicmagic/moodlogic

not currently, except for starting a new scan, will stop a scan in
    progress.

There is ongoing work to reduce overhead while playing. if you are
getting frequent scans, try setting your the reload interval for
itunes/musicmagic/moodlogic to a much larger number. If you use the
itunes update plugin, for example, the itunes library will be changed
after playing every song. If you leave the reload interval at the
default 60s, you will have an itunes scan every song.

It shouldn't rescan automatically at all unless you have the rescan plugin enabled.

If you'd like it to make sure it's off, or have it automatically rescan at a convenient time, go to Server Settings -> Plugins -> Rescan Music Library, where you can set the Rescan Timer to on or off, and set a rescan time.
