Thank you for the updated roadmap
http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.cgi?SoftwareRoadmap
It is really great to know what is going to be done in the near future.
I am slightly disappointed that firmware improvements are not mentioned at
all. Examples:

Bug #1061: Ogg Vorbis Support in Firmware
Bug #1763: WMA Support in Firmware
The "more audio sources, formats" goal is listed up there. The above bugs
seem to be in line with the goal.
Thanks,

I suspect that that exactly what the "more audio sources, formats" goal had in mind. If firmware is necessary for this, then it will almost certainly happen. Didn't it also say "whatever it takes"?

Right. But it would be more reassuring to see the bugs listed under 6.5 for
example....

Thank you for the updated roadmap

I'm absolutely thrilled that ReplayGain support is going into 6.2! I can hardly wait!

I celebrated my (gasp) 30th birthday party the other day and all my guests were in awe of the SqueezeBox... the only downside was that I needed to keep the remote in my hand to manage the volume of descrepantly gained tracks.

Mmmm normalized volume.

Is it? Wow, I missed that. That really would be fantastic!

hate to be a bringdown, but be aware that the roadmap is a living document. It
is a proposal and a target. There is ongoing discussion in the dev list on
this roadmap, since feedback was requested. Be careful what you assume to be
promised, as I've only once seen anything actually stated as 'promised'. Given
the demand for this feature, I'm sure that every effort will be made.
