Hello all,

I just noticed that when I launch iTunes on the Mac, Slimp does not work anymore: it reacts verrrry slowly, musics stops after one minute and the % of use in the activity monitor of the Mac is at the max... things come back to normal after a few minutes after quitting iTunes.

My setup is a Slimp player with server version 6.1.1, OS X 10.3.9.

Is it the normal behavior ? I don't remember this happening with 5.2.

Patrick,
It's probably the SlimServer iTunes library rescan being triggered -
opening iTunes and any subsequent changes to the library will cause a
rescan each time.
What's your iTunes rescan interval set to? (The default of 60 seconds is
usually too low)

Thanks James, it is set to 360 seconds. I will try to set it even higher as I do not need the server to be so fast to integrate the changes.

You could check by enabling the d_itunes debugging to see exactly what's
going on (and how long your scan actually takes)
