Hi All,

After installing 6.1.2 yesterday on OS X.4.2, slimserver just refuses to start from SystemPreferences pane. Going back to 6.1.1 (which used to work perfectly) now gives the same error. Here is the log but I can't really make any sense of it...

2005-08-11 17:20:23.1315 SlimServer HTTP init...
can't setup the listening port 9000 for the HTTP server: Address already in use at /Users/john/Library/PreferencePanes/SlimServer.prefPane/Contents/server/Slim/Web/HTTP.pm line 189.
2005-08-11 17:20:23.1737 Got to the END.
2005-08-11 17:20:23.1739 Got sigint.
2005-08-11 17:20:23.1740 SlimServer cleaning up.
2005-08-11 17:20:23.3098 SlimServer saving pid file.
2005-08-11 17:20:23.3119 Got to the END.
2005-08-11 17:20:23.3123 Got sigint.
2005-08-11 17:20:23.3126 SlimServer cleaning up.

Slimserver preferences, etc have been deleted, slimserver reinstalled, system restarted, but still same problem. OS X firewall disabled so port 9000 should not be an issue.

Any ideas?

Is it possible that SlimServer is already running on that machine?

What happens if you open http://localhost:9000 in your browser?
