hi. i have tried to figure this out in as many places as i can look but now i need HELP!

slimp3 is stuck on "initializing..." wether plugged into ethernet or not. When i hold any key on remote and plug unit into power, i get "Slim Devices Bootloder V." and that message just sits there.
nothing shows on the dhcp server.
i cannot get the mac address to show up either.

i bought the unit used almost a year ago and have no problems.

i have never updated firmware.

if this is in the wrong forum please let me know.

thanks for any assistance.

if you press and hold a button on the remote while you plug the power
back in, does it go into update mode?

can you then try to redo the firmware update
(even just reloading the same firmware you already have on there).

what server version have you been running, and what OS?

Tried that and it just says bootloader V. and nothing else.

can't get to that step yet

slimserver 5.(can't remember) and then just upgraded to latest version.

os =win2ksp4

turns out that I need a new microcontroller that the folks at Slim Devices are sending out in a spectacularly quick fashion. I doubt I would get that service with any other MP3/music server device company.
