Hi,

Does the SlimServer create a database of the music files in its library?

If so, where is it located on the computer running the server software, and in what format is the database? I'm using MusicLibrary to read and modify tags, and I'm wondering if I can use the library database that SlimServer already created for this?

Does anyone know of any good music cataloguing software (like MusicLibrary) that support MP3, AAC, WMA, FLAC and other music files (+tags) and has an open database format, like Access?

Regards,
swedela

FYI, that page is wrong, it should be C:\Program Files\SlimServer\server\Cache\slimserversql.db

Thanks for your quick replies.

Is it possible to use SQL queries from eg Access or MS Query to read information from the db file? Do I have to have SQLite installed for this?

You will need SQLite installed. http://www.sqlite.org/

Thanks for the reply.

I understand I need SQLite installed, but is it correct I also need e.g. an ODBC driver (eg www.ch-werner.de/sqliteodbc/) to be able to exchange SQL statements and data with SQLite from eg Access?

For Access, yes you need an ODBC driver. For other communications you'll need different drivers (e.g. Java apps would need a JDBC driver).

Great help for me to understand how to use SlimServer in combination with a Squeezebox.
