I just wanted to pass along the fruits of my trial and error approach to getting the playback on I enjoyed on Fedora Core 3 working on Centos 4.1

For the record I ended up installing the following packages:

FAAD : faad2-2.0-4.2.el4.rf.i386.rpm (for AAC)

FFMPEG: ffmpeg-0.4.9-0.20041110.3.2.el4.rf.i386.rpm (for WMA)

I placed the following lines in my convert.conf file which are a little different then the ones I came up with for FC3:

mov mp3 * *

[faad] -w $FILE$ | [lame] -r -b $BITRATE$ - -

wma mp3 * *

[ffmpeg] -v 0 -i $FILE$ -f wav - | [lame] -x -m s -r -S -q 5 -s 44.1 - -

Hope this is useful to someone someday, and saves some head scratching....

Can you decode wma streams without clicks and static? The version of ffmpeg that I got working on FC4 sounds horrible.
