hey,
don't know if this is already in the works, but the whole squeezenetwork thing is way cool, except for the fact that it requires manual intervention. the ideal scenario for me would be that when the slim server goes offline (i turn off the computer), the sb2 automatically connects to the squeezenetwork. when the slim server comes back online, the sb2 switches back. obviously, some people may not want that behavior so ideally it would be configurable. just a thought...

also, just wanted to say this is a very sweet product and i love the fact that i'm still getting new features!

Guys,

Does anyone have a clue whether this option will ever be implemented? I'm using my Squeezebox for almost 5 years now, still waiting for it.

Something like this feature is already provided as part of the ServerPowerControl plugin.

You can close down the server PC and switch to whatever SqueezeNetwork is called now (why did they change it?) from the player's remote control and lots of other server power control possiblities.

Not sure it made the transition to 7.4 gracefully yet though?

file enhancement request here then:

https://bugs.slimdevices.com/

btw search for an existing one before you file a new one.
I would not like this one, I foresee a lot of bugs and problem with players not connecting to the right place.

It has to be some user config possibilities to make it work to, should it reconnect at the local server when it comes back again ?

Would this work reliable ? If I turn of my server for maintainance I would not like to wait 15 minutes for half of the players to come back and then logon somewhere to fetch the rest back to my server ;)

imho is that this is that kind of function that can go horribly wrong.
Imagine this when fw updates are also involwed.

Edit. also the performance of this function is dependent of the robustness of your local network and isp etc.

Interesting none of my players auto connect to mysb.com when the server is down ? nor should they if I have any say.

SBR, SB3 BOOM and Controller.

If the server is off and I use my controller, the players eventually wiggle their way to mysbs.com with only a dozen clicks confused menu fiddling etc,
but it is a stretch of imagination to call it automatic ??
It is in fact much worse than the old manual selection, then you knew what was going on.

The behavior asked for is that for example my SB3 should without user intervention switch over to mysbs.com instantly when the server is gone and instantly switch back when the server is online again, witch a user selectable preference to not have this behavior.

This is not the case right now.

I use WOL from a powered of state, so i would expect my SB3 and BOOM actually to WOL the server and then wait for it's return , wich in fact works very well right now. So when this is working i got a problem ?
