Hi there - have just decided to use iTunes as my database for music (so I can use the fact that iTunes stores tag information on WAV files in it's database and I want to use WAVS)...anyway - my Slimserver doesn't find the iTunes database and just reports no albums and no artist etc - my setting are below:

Music Folder - blank

Playlists Folder - blank

Find iTunes Library Automatically

iTunes Music Library.xml Location - E:\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music Library.xml

iTunes Music Folder - E:\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music

Have read the info in similar thread below but suggestion of moving preferences file to desktop hasn't made any difference - I am probably missing something :-)

Automatic may only find the itunes library if it is in the same
location that you use as you music folder, or that it is located in the
default location during itunes install (usually My Documents/My
Music/iTunes/itunes Music Library.xml)

You can see where it is trying to look if you go into server
settings->debugging, turn on d_itunes
Then open a browser to http://server:9000/log.txt,
go into server settings->plugins, disable iTunes, click change, enable
itunes, click change.
refresh the log.txt browser

Thanks, well sadly http://server:9000/log.txt just comes up page not found (even though Slimerver sees the player Ok in the web interface and the SB2 is on and waiting for input?) but even if I change Find iTunes Library to specify a location (and the location below is where the .xml file is and where my iTunes music is) it still doesn't work. Only way I can get Slimserver to see my music is to place E:\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music in the main Music Folder option on Server Settings - but of course this doesn't use iTunes tags or whatever, just browses the folders as if they were anywhere on my drive really :/

Just to be sure... you replaced "server" by your servername or its ip
address?

Thanks for brilliant quick comeback - found the problem - had to tell Slimserver that its music folder was where iTunes keeps it's database (the 'xml' file) then I got the 'use iTunes' switch' without which not much happens with iTunes - doh!!! (should have read the FAQ that came with Slimserver first really...:-)
