Sounds ridiculously simple, but I can't get it to play in anything other than alphabetical order.

Which is the correct setting for this?

Thanks.

Khuli,

They should play in track order automatically, unless there's an
issue with your tags.

How did you queue up the songs to play?

Simply clicking on an album and then 'play' creates a playlist in alphabetical order, not in track order.

Just downloded an ID3 editor, and notice that the track numbers seem to be blank... I guess that's the answer :(

How are your files named? If the file names start with th track number, they should be played in order of track number as long as the Server Settings -> Behaviour -> Sort By File Name setting is set to "Sort by file name".

On the other hand, I'm having trouble with this myself. Some albums, though not all, are enqueued correctly. The rest are enqueued by song name, even though the naming scheme and tagging are identical! Any clues, anyone..?

All my file names are saved as "tracknum-title-artist-album.mp3" and even with the settings on Sort by Filename, they are still listed in alphabetical order... except the ones with correct ID3 tags. It's as if the sort option doesn't work, and it's by ID3 only.

Ah, then you need to go to Server Settings -> Formatting -> Guess
Tags Format and enter that format. Then rescan (and clear out your
database) and it should work for you...

Do you have this in your guess tags format?

TRACKNUM-TITLE-ARTIST-ALBUM

if you have then, then the files should behave just as if they had id3 tags.

I am having a similar problem, though can't figure out the order that the system is following when I choose an album and want it to play the tracks in track order. Here is how a sample track is stored (in iTunes): Artist\Title\Track Number and Title.m4a. For example:

Radiohead\Amnesiac\11 Life In A Glass House.m4a

The list comes out OK when I look at the songs in the album; problem is when I select "all songs."
