I am very new to all this. I have recently purchased a Zensonic Z400 Wireless Media Player and have managed to get operating using the Zensonic server software. However the server software is fairly basic and for example will only play my mp3 music file albums and playlists in alphabetical order. I have downloaded slimserver v 6.0.2 for windows, and it can see my library in itunes, but my player can not see it. I have checked that the required ports are open in the windows firewall. What else do I need to do so the media player can see it. Can anybody help please.

I've never heard of the zensonic product. Does it support slimserver directly
as a server?? Otherwise, the only option is to load a url to the player:

http://slimserverIP:9000/stream.mp3

SlimServer will only work with Slim Devices hardware (such as the Squeezebox2).

Not strictly true, but any other hardware would have to specifically support SlimServer unless it is capable of being told to play http://slimserverIP:9000/stream.mp3. If the Zensonic device claims SlimServer support, you will be much better off asking Zensonic's own support team or in Zensonic specific forums.

Thanks for your comments. As the Zensonic Z400 is a UPnP device apparently it is capable of playing music using a number of 3rd party servers. Nero Mediahome is one that I have seen used but I decided I wanted to try Slimserver. Here is a link for anyone interested in knowing a bit more about the Zensonic. http://www.overclockers.com.au/article.php?id=326780&P=1
I'll ask on the Zensonic forum and see if I can get any more help there. Thanks again.

SlimServer is not a UPnP device, I'm afraid.
