View Full Version : UTF8, OSX & iTunes

Can anyone offer any advice on the following problem?

In the iTunes Library XML on OSX the character is encoded as e%CC%81 and this is stored as part of the URL in SlimServer.

Upon retrieving the URL from SlimServer and using filePathFromURL() on it I get two separate characters, the e and the accent, not one,
and I can't match on the file path as retrieved directly from iTunes which contains only the singe accented e.
I get the same output whether setting the 'don't translate' parameter to this call or not.

Everything works fine for SlimServer using this URL so I assume the OS is translating it internally.

So - my question - Is there any way for me to translate the 2 characters (either escaped or otherwise) back into the single one?

thanks

James

Could you send me the .xml file?

Thanks.
