Does anyone have software that would allow me to emulate a Squeezebox remote with display on a Palm Pilot. Something similar to the Softsqueeze. I see that older Palm Pilots can be picked up for next to nothing and it sems to me they would make a great remote, at a great price, specially as I need several control points scattered around the house. The $1,000 to $1,500 per touch screen approach just doesn't work for me.

Thanks.

You can't have softsqueeze, but there the handheld skin. Open
http://yourserver:9000/Handheld/ with your web browser. I use it all the
time with my Zaurus.

And there's TelCanto for Windows PDAs. It's payware, but said to be really
good, more responsive than the web interface.

Old palm pilot might be cheap, but not many have ANY network
capability built in. Remeber to factor in the cost of a wi-fi card.

Hi,

You can use a product called ProntoLite to learn and emulate the remote control - I think it's payware but I don't think it's killer expensive. Be warned though - the infrared on most palms is low power and you might have to be quite close. You won't get the display with this method though.....

As stated previously, if you can get your Palm online (on your wifi network) you'd be better served using the PDA skin option to control the web interface.

Just my 10c worth!

The product you are looking for is Salling Clicker it runs on Palm and interfaces with the SqueezeBox thru Applescripts. I have the Palm LifeDrive with Salling Clicker and now my mac is fully remote in terms of media - iPhoto; iDVD, iTunes, SqueezeBox/ SlimServer--all on one device it's totally the answer to my dreams.

The product you are looking for is Salling Clicker...so long as you're running a Mac.

I also have salling clicker but have had problems with it since 5.3 I
am currently running 6.02 and constantly get "can't find slimserver"
or something similar. What version are you running? All other
functions seem to work fine (itunes, VLC,iDVD, )

Thanks
