To improve yields, we had to make changes to our injection mold and our painting process, then wait for a new production run. That shipment arrived yesterday, the quality is *excellent*, and we're shipping out the backlog starting today.

If you have a Platinum Squeezebox2 on back-order, expect a shipping confirmation this week. By roughly mid next week, they will be in stock both here and in Europe for same-day shipment.

Thanks everyone for your patience. The new cases look fantastic - well worth the wait. :)

Excellent news! Can you clarify when those of us that ordered through
European resellers should expect ours?

Thanks

YES!!!!

I was silently hoping shipment would be before the €-$ rate would hit 1 again... and it did :-))

Hi Sean,

Since you seem to have a full control over the production process....

Are there any plans to create a different case design?
Perhaps looking a bit more attractive? Less like a $9.99 alarm clock radio?

Thanks,

Oh no, not this again...
Expecting the usual (and correct) replies here:
SlimDevices do not discuss future hardware revisions/improvements
Build your own if you don't like it
I like it/I don't like it
Buy a Roku if all you want is aesthetics

This is not THE exhaustive list but lets not do this one all over again, please.

I don't know exactly what day they'll arrive, but it won't take more than 1-2 weeks to get fully caught up. Your local dealer will have an ETA for you in a few days.

Feel free to post here to let us know as they're landing.

That's all I was after, thanks again.

Excellent news! Looks like I should have one by the end of next week if I'm
lucky.

Just to re-iterate, I wasn't complaining about the delay. I have always had
the option of switching my order to a black Squeezebox, but I chose to wait.

Thanks

Out of interest, will the plastic pony be included with tha platinum box? I am dying to find out what it does when squeezed. I almost switched over to a black version only for that reason :-)

Paul

I squeezed mine and its stomach fell out.... :-(

hehe... I squeezed mine and it's A** fell out.

While the shell didn't last, I still have the squishy innards (still
holding it's form with eyes and all) sitting on my shelf as a keepsake. :-)

still, a nice little pony.

Well, its two weeks since this was posted and I still don't have mine. Ordered from multi-task in the UK in April. No proactive communication, just one response with a promise that's not been met.

Am I the only unlucky one? I've seen a few postings along the lines of "its arrived at last" but not many.

Also, if this works the way I expect it to there's probably another order on its way for someone - does anyone have better experience with any other UK based supplier?

Thanks
ceejay.

I have got mine last week from multi-task. Orderd 16th May.

Well worth the wait - much better than the original SB1

Stuart.

Ceejay,

A bunch of units arrived today in the UK. As soon as they arrived, 90% we
shipped out to resellers. We will be shipping an even larger amount by the
end of this week. That batch should fully eliminate the backlog in the UK.

Thank you for your patience.

Patrick

broadbandstuff.co.uk say they are expecting their first silver ones tomorrow. I'm hoping they will have a spare wired one for me (although I haven't even ordered it yet!).

Ha!

I am now the proud owner of a platinum SB2:

- It looks amazingly good on top of the old Quad 34/405.
- It does not have any dropouts, even after 5 minutes of microwave use while playing FLAC's. (where 5 seconds of mw killed off the SB1)
- It sounds perfect.
- It's display is way better than SB1's.
- It shipped in under THREE days from CA to Ammsterdam!
- All in all getting it directly from Slim Devices turned out €45 cheaper then getting one from a EU dealer.

- It is, in three words, a flawless product.

The only thing I miss is the pony. It was not in the box. So now I will never know what it looks like :-( A well, I'll find another squeeze.....
