I currently have a SBG1 and use the IR-->xPL functionality to use the SB
as a universal IR reciever.

I have read a few messages on this board saying that this functionaliy
is not working with SB2. Is this true? I think someone said that it
wasnt picking up IR signals other than from the slimdevices remote.

Is there a time frame for when this will be functioning as in SB1? I
understand this is not a priority as it is pretty specific functionality
and there are bigger fish to fry at the moment!

This is the only thing that is putting me off buying a new SB2 for when
I expand my system when I move house.

Also any news on when the IR sending ability via the headphone port will
be operational?

I am just thinking how this will be best integrated into xPL. I guess
xPL.pm already has access to sending commands via the CLI interface, so
as long as IR sending is through the CLI it should be pretty simple.

Cheers

There are at least two bugs registered:

http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1352
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1478

But I think it depends on the model of your remote. While I did not have
any luck with a cheap universal remote I'm now successfully using a NAD
remote with a custom .ir file.

So you have not programmed your NAD to the slimdevices codes? You have
just left the remote alone and made a new .ir/.map file for that remote.

So this is saying that the hardware/firmware is capable of it recieving
IR commands other than slimdevices, but that for some reason it isnt
picking it up from /some/ remotes or maybe some code ranges. Odd!

Does anyone have the SB2 reacting to JVC DVD codes?

Exactly.

I just can confirm that my JVC does _not_ work with SB2, but with SB1 and
SliMP3.

I'm have observed hex IR codes in the Xpl messages from my SB2 when other remotes are used in the same room. I don't know if this is the case for every code/remote I have as I wasn't testing for this behaviour at the time. I have 4 in 1 remote and could try out a few manufacturers codes if you want.
