I have a SlimServer 6.0.1 on Windows XP and two SB2 boxes.

I am having hard time connecting to a remote wma radio station,
because of their limited server bandwidth/availability. When the
connection is finaly established, then it works quite well (no
frequent disconnects).

Is there any way to keep the wma stream "alive" when none of my SB2
boxes is actualy tined in to the stream? Is SlimServer "reusing" the
same stream for different devices?

In other words, is only one wma stream established, when both SB2
boxes are tuned in to the same station?

Can I use WMA player on Windows XP box to keep the stream alive? Can I
use SoftSqueeze to keep the stream alive?

Thanks!

AFAIK no. If you listen to the same stream on different devices (even
synchronised) it will connect twice to the remote server.

As each device uses its own stream you can't.

Thank you for a quick reply.

This is unfortunate. One stream would make more sense and would
certainly be easier to synch. Oh well, I guess it is not easy to
implement....
