Hi, I've set up my new SB2 and am running Slimserver in Linux on an old P166 laptop. The laptop has been running fine for a few months doing other duties as well, and Slimserver seems to work well apart from being somewhat slow at times, but that was expected. The Slimserver is using between 5 - 20 % cpu when idle or playing a track and jumps to 100 % each time any selection in the interface is done, track change, when the http interface updates, etc.. I'm looking for ways to disable the http interface or any other way to make the server use less resources. Any suggestions?

I'd like to know more about the CLI but can't find the docs. Where can I find this?

Finally, is there a guide to set up slimscrobbler? I'm fumbling a bit here and can't get it to work. update: I found the solution in this thread http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=13587 . Only I had to change slimscrobbler.sourceforge.net to sourceforge.net on the cvs checkout line.

The key to SlimScrobbler is to check out the cvs, see
http://slimscrobbler.sourceforge.net.

As far as the web interface goes, you might try using the Light skin
(it's, well, light) or the ExBrowse2 skin (uses more dynamic client-side
stuff than calls to the server).

Thanks for your answers. I found that if I set the player to use a screensaver cpu usage is down to arround 3%. The 'light' skin for the http interface also helps just like you wrote stinkingpig.

FWIW this is a gui-less gentoo linux configuration on a P166MMX / 72 Mb laptop. Besides slimserver it's running samba, ftp, ssh and ntp daemons. Being that old machine it's also has no fan, and with a Samsung 80 Gb disk it's very quiet.
