My slimserver (6.1 or 6.02 both) on winxp (with and without SP2) on a shuttle P4 is crashing quite constantly with my slimp3 saying "connecting...is this the right ip..." somthing like that. I go to the web interface and select the various debug options and save. Then it crashes, I go to the web interface, get page not found, hit refresh, go to the debug page -- no log to be found and the checks are gone.

So how do I figure out what is going wrong. Only the pre-installed plugins are in. I thought it was the advanced alarm doing it but deleted that , reformatted the hard drive even and it still happens.
Thanks

The log is stored in a file called slimserver.log. I don't know exactly
where it is on windows systems, but guess it's where you installed
slimserver.

One more possibility... If you run slimserver from the command line
(slim.exe) the log output will be given in the console where you can read
it.

Depends on what information you need... What do you want?

I'll try the command line - cause I searched for a log file and found none. Any suggestions as to the exact options?

>c:/slimserver/server/slim.exe --d_plugins --d_stdio (others?) > log.txt

thanks

:) I want to find out why slimserver is crashing when it is a dedicated server. slimserver installed as given - no extras.

If the crashes aren't related to some of your actions just run it without
any parameter. This might already give a hint in what direction to look
further.
