Hi

Running latest version of slimserver 6.0.2 on windows xp with songs stored on buffalo terastation NAS and squeezebox2 running firmware 11. Terastation and squeezebox2 connected using ethernet to netgear dg834g wireless router which connects wirelessly to PC. All files stored as FLAC and sent as FLAC.

At the start of most songs i get glitches in the music. Usually 3 or 4 in quick succession then the rest of the song plays fine. Sometimes the next song simply never starts at all (squeezebox simply displays end of completed song) and I have to manually move the next one.

Monitoring the PC shows wireless connection to be "excellent" and cpu usage is usually a few percent sometimes about 15. Wireless network utilisation is about 1% mostly but does peak to between 15 and 25 at the start of each song. However, while the glitching is happening I can freely surf the web at (what seems like) normal speed.

Any ideas how I can fix this?

Thanks
Jim

this might be the same as thread http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=14324 although no resolution as such

!BUMP!
kefa - Thanks for that. I think there might be two issues here (one is the same as the thread you list) but the other is something different I think.
Has anyone any idea why I might get these glitches at the start of each song? It is almost as if something needs to synchronise (with something else?) before the track can play properly....?
