How do you set up slimserver to play CDs (from Windows XP SP2 with Windows Media Player 10)?

SlimServer only plays ripped music. It has no concept of a CD interface.

OK, but it also plays streamed music. Is there any way of getting Windows Media Player or some other widget read a CD and stream it to (a) Slimserver or (b) directly to SB2.

You don't stream to a slimserver, a slimserver streams. Streaming to a squeezebox would, I imagine, be theoretically possible, but you'd have to implement the entire squeezebox protocol i.e. write another slimserver. I think thhe short answer is probably no to both questions.

well, you could probably use winamp to play the cd. install the shoutcast
plugin for winamp to create a stream, then point slimserver at the stream by
putting the url into the 'tune in' form in the help section for internet radio.

I'm not sure what you can do with WMP to create a stream.
