I've tried converting my playlists to reflect the file structure of the new Linux installtion on the server, but it isn't working - I get an error for each playlist entry. The error references

/usr/local/slimserver/CPAN/Audio/FLAC.pm line 39

which warns that the file doesn't exist or can't be read.

Could I be having a problem with the [RETURN] character? Doesn't unix use a different [RETURN] than DOS/WWindows?

Or is there a little script that converts playlists?

Could be.
The utility you probably want to try is called dos2unix
it is installed on many Linux distros by default,
altho with Mandrake, you have to install
it yourself using MCC or urpmi

Also be careful about CaseSensitivity, which Windows ignores
and Linux cares a lot about. Also any weird characters like
spaces, accented chars, etc.

Try it first with a small file with easy names.
Then get more complex
