i tried to install it with mysql as described in the wiki.
e emerged mysql an set it up, it works from the command line.
but not with slimsrv:

Is mysql running on the same machine? Do you have DBI-MySQL installed?

i now found out that it works when i start slimserver as root.
its not really faster tough, i seem to have way too much files ;)
maybe there is a caching option in mysql?...

its not really faster tough, i seem to have way too much files ;)
maybe there is a caching option in mysql?...

It's not expected to be faster. It might scale better, but that's just
a theory at this point.

One of the users on the dev list was running with 120k track library on SQLite and noticed no slowdowns.

MySQL is probably not going to be faster than SQLite -- MySQL would make
sense if you had a high degree of concurrency in database usage. In
this case, you don't.

It's certainly interesting to be able to use MySQL -- especially if you
want to develop your own apps to use/manage the data -- but I'm pretty
sure it would be a net loss in performance if it's speed you're looking for.
