View Full Version : SB2 Display flicker

2005-04-30, 12:34
On the SB2 display, I noticed there are three pixels flickering, a bit
starry-like.

They are in the left corner: above middle in brightness 3, below middle in
brightness 2.
There is no flickering in brightness 4, 1 or off, so it's not the display
itself obviously.

Anyone else seen this?

Also, the display seems to glow on both sided when powered (except in the
display off state).

Just curious

Peter

no worries. you can add your email to the cc list for that bug if you want to
be kept informed on its status.

Yes, I have noticed this too. Thought I had a faulty display and was going to contact Slim Devices for a exchange.

I was referred to this bug entry too for a display problem, but - after looking at the picture - I think my problem is rather different. Here's the email I sent to Tech Support:

Hmmm... yeah it sounds like something we haven't seen before - like
something is dumping spurious data into the graphics memory.

So you've got "stuck" pixels that kind of accumulate after a while?

A few questions:

- What file format are you playing? (MP3, FLAC, etc)

- Which visualizer are you using, if any (full screen, little
spectrum analyzer, etc.)

In response to your questions:
- I am playing MP3s
- I attached a pdf with my display settings.
PS I sent Kevin Pearsall an email with pictures of the problem (too large to post in the forum - if I don't get stuck in the office again, I'll minimize the files & post).
