Sorry if this has been covered before, but I can't seem to find anything on
it. I'm running Slimserver 6.0.1 and separately MusicMagic is working fine,
but I can't get them talking to each other - when I tick the MusicMagic box
in the Slimserver Plugins section I get:

New value for Web page cache age rejected:
Invalid value specified:

I have asked Predixis for a user key, but still can't get it working, and
searching gmane draws a blank.

Thanks in advance!

This has nothing to do with musicmagic. I can't think of what that is coming
from offhand.

you will need a user key for musicmagic, in order to enable the API server in
musicmagic. Slimserver communicates with that server, and will uncheck the
musicmagic plugin as long as that communication fails.

it seems that this is AlienBBC related. The default value for Web page cache
age is 30 (according to the description), but the value isn't being loaded to
the form (probably becuase the default value isn't being written to the pref on
startup). When you submit teh musicmagic change, this will also try to submit
the blank value in teh Web Page cache age prefs. Blank is not a valid value
for this pref. As a workaround, enter 30 and click change. Then you wont have
to worry, at least about that message.

Yes, I had this - as KDF said just poke 30 into the Alien BBC Web Page Cache and all will be well (Actually I had it with about three other preferences, as well).

The other issue I had with MusicMagic was I missed the option to enable it within SlimServer - As well as appearing in the plugins page, it also puts some options at the bottom of "Server Settings" - one of these is something like "Use MusicMagic" or similar (sorry, I'm at work and don't have the exact message to hand) - Check this and a rescan should initiate - on completion, songs that show as green in MusicMagic should have a little "mm" next to them in slimserver. Click on this to get a playlist.

Incidentally, you will need a key for MM (bargain IMHO) and enable the API from the options menu in MM.

Cheers
