ok. i know this may or may not be kosher, but i would like to change the "Welcome to SlimServer" message that is in the metatdata of the stream. any easy way of doing this?

as a thought for the future maybe make it an option in the web config.

In the server directory there is a file called strings.txt. You can search for the phrase in that file and change it there.

Make sure you save both the original and the edited version with a different name, because every time you update the software it will overwrite your customized strings.txt file.

I also edited mine to say "Artists" instead of "Browse Artists" and so on.

....and if you don't want to care about filenames, locations etc. you can
download my StringEditor plugin:

It was basically developped for translators, but will serve anybody who
wants to change strings.txt.
