is advertised but not exactly made simple. - i cant find any
instructions anywhere.

Theres a download link to predixis on
http://www.slimdevices.com/pi_features.html
and a link to the third party plugins page here
http://www.slimdevices.com/dev_third_party.html.

However, that 3rd party page has no details on MusicMagic. Out of
interest i had a look at the Moodlogic page - this is a bit better but
still contains no instructions either.

I have managed to turn MusicMagic on but it took far longer than it
should have. If you're trying to do this you need to do the following
on the server/web interface
1) find the musicmagic checkbox in the server settings and switch it on
2) use the default skin (fishbone seems to lack the functionality)
3) you'll then see a little MM icon next to track MM knows about.
Click on on an MM icon to create a mix based on that track.

Correct me if i've missed anything.

Questions:
1) the mixes seem a random length. 9 tracks, 12 tracks? MusicMagic
is set to 25 but the Slim mixes dont seem to obey this. Where can i
alter this?
2) is there anyway of starting a mix from a Squeezebox?

Lastly, is someone writing instructions or shall i have a go?

Hi,

It also took me a while to make MMM work. I managed to completely mis
the 'Use MusicMagic' radiobutton on the server settings page. This is
only there after you select the checkbox in Server Settings - Plugins.

After you have switched on MMM like that you get an extra option under
server settings: MusicMagic. There you can set some MMM options (like
mix size, style and variety)

The way I start a mix from the Squeezebox is :

- Browse or search for a song or album.

- A little 'm' appears at the end of the first line on the display.
(if you have selected a size that makes the display show one line
(large, or huge) you won't see the 'm')

- Now press and hold the play button on the remote. A message
'MusicMagic Mixing' appears. This mix is made using the parameters you
entered in de MMM option page in Server Settings. When done it
displays:

Music Magic Mix (1 of xx)
Title of first song

(again, on a two line display)

- Press play again to play the mix.

Good luck,

Paul

Is there a way of confirming this is actually loaded on windows.
Looking at the defaul web skin I have enabled MusicMagic (I purchased
the $9.99 licence to get the API) but I cannot see any of these MM
icons. I can see the Mix icon to enable Moodlogic Mixes but nothing
for MusicMagic

This may indicate then that MoodLogic and MusicMagic cannot co-exist
as that's exactly the same method for enable a moodlogic mix

Quoting Steve <stevekdavis (AT) gmail (DOT) com>:

they co-exist just fine. moodlogic shows a 'm' graphic in the web browsing,
musicmagic shows 'mm'. In the player UI, press-and-hold play will give you a
list of mix options if there is more than one available for that item.
