View Full Version : Ignore Songs Disabled in iTunes

This feature doesn't work like I'd expect it to. If I go into iTunes and
uncheck a file that the slim server has in its music list slim server does
not pickup the change and remove the song from the list. I have to rescan
the library to get the song removed. I would expect that it removes
unchecked songs from the list the same way it adds new songs or removes
deleted songs, without having to rescan. Is this a bug or is this how the
feature should work?

Thanks,

Tom.

Tom - what version of the server are you using?

I checked in a change yesterday that removes the track from our DB if it's
been disabled in iTunes.

You have the puzzle pieces? Good, then turn off the damn walls.

6.x - that's where all of our development efforts are right now.

Seems to have actually gotten worse, I have the "Ignore Songs Disabled in iTunes" set, however slim is showing me all the songs in the iTunes music library. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot or what information would help you pin it down.

please see this bug:
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1475

unfortunately, since iTunes doesn't properly update its own information for
changed date, it is stuck at this point for now.

When can we expect a patch or update?

add you email addy to the cc list for this:
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1475

and you will get emails on the status if/when it changes,
and when it is fixed.

asking for an eta is highly unlikely to get any accurate response, especially
given the particular nature of this particular problem
