Hello all,

I just installed the new 6.0b2 which is really nice. I like to use iTunes
as opposed to music folder mainly for ease of creating playlists. There was
some talk the other day about using iTunes just for playlists. I can't wait
for that functionality. But until then I will be sticking with iTunes.

I do have one major problem with this configuration though. Every time I
use iTunes to play music the xml file changes, which causes Slim to do a
rescan. I know there is a kind of workaround by changing the time slim
waits to rescan, but that doesn't seem to work for me. Slim will start to
rescan no matter what value I put in there. Is there a way to tell Slim to
only rescan when I tell it? Normally it probably wouldn't be a big deal but
I have over 43,000 songs in my Library and the scan takes FOREVER!!!!

I look forward to getting some good feedback from all of you. This
community makes using a squeezebox that much sweeter.

server settings->itunes->itunes reload interval

its not FOREVER, but you could make it a very long time.
