Excellent suggestion! I can't believe I didn't think of that.... The
guys in the front office are going to love it - thanks.

lHi Dave

No--you cannot have multiple clients connect to the same stream,
however 3 computers could all run softsqueeze (the squeezebox emulator)
and those could all be synchronized (slimserver has a synchronization
feature built in which allows synchronization of any valid
squeezebox/slimp3/softsqueeze clients) providing you with essentially
the same result. The server is actually broadcasting three individual,
synchronized streams. I know some people have had some issues with
precise synchronization in softsqueeze (at least when synchronizing
softsqueeze with a squeezebox, I don't know what the results are when
synchronizing multiple softsqueezes) and that Richard Titmuss has been
constantly tweaking this. He could probably better tell you how well
synchronization in softsqueeze is working these days.

I work in an office where the cubes are close enough that its a good
idea if everyone is playing the same stream, in sync. Is it possible for
3 copies of iTunes to use the same stream coming off of a slimserver? I
run slimserver v5.4.1 Linux (under SuSE 9.2) if that matters at all.

Wouldn't something like icecast be better suited for this?
