Mine is running on W2003 server. Out of the box installation worked fine.
Runs well as a service have had the odd occasion (once a month) where I
might need to restart the service but otherwise fine.

Yeah, I ran it on a 2003 Server machine for a little while. Just use
the installer and check the box that says, "start automatically" and
it'll run as a service. To use the EXE version on Windows, you don't
need anything extra like Perl. All the Perl modules are included with
the distribution.
