Hi all

I have been reading a lot about a plugin for PublicRadioFan but am
currently unable to find it on the web site. Please can someone point me
in the correct direction for this as I am a great fan of the (brilliant)
PublicRadioFan site.

Thanks

The PublicRadioFanBrowser plugin is no longer supported by the author.
We've just been passing it around amongst ourselves. I got my copy
originally from KDF who had modified it sufficiently to work with the
current 5.4 Slimserver. I don't know if it has been tested in the 6.0
environment yet, but we might as well wait on that until 6.0 is a little
further along.

It is a very nice addition to the slim community. There are some things I'd
like to see added (like the ability to sort music/shows by genre/topic) and
I don't think it is picking up all the shows/stations, but having it work at
all is very nice.

I'd be willing post it on my website later today, so that it is available for
all who want to use it. I'll welcome patches and try to keep it working with
server updates, but I don't have a lot of time to do much more than that. If at
some point anyone steps forward to actually support it, that would be
preferred.

[This thread rejoining the Slim Discussion List after a brief private
sojourn.]

Lawrence seems to have had no problem getting PublicRadioFanBrowser to work
the first time on his WinXP system. But he had a functioning AlienBBC
plugin before he started. It looks like getting AlienBBC up and running
provides all that is needed for PRFB to work. In the mean time, installing
the current version of ActivePerl is a good bet.

Things I'd like to see in a future version of PRFB:
1) some way to set time zone other than editing the .pm file
2) listing music programs by genre

i've made a quick attempt to make this plugin work for 6.0 and I have placed it
online at:
http://www.deane-freeman.com/slimserver/

Please note that I am only making this public for the benefit of continued
access. I really cannot take on support and development of this plugin. If
there are any crashers caused by the plugin use with 6.0, I'll do what I can
but I don't plan on attempting any feature changes in the forseeable future.
