Looks good. I'll have a play when i've time.

Building it in would be great though a softsqueeze shortcut hasnt been
created automatically the last few times i installed.

not sure if that's the one I used, but I did recently find some good
information on doing this from Perl via Win32 API. Works in my script,
should work in Slimserver, should be accessible from Java as well (maybe).
