Thanks for looking into it if you can.

After looking at your answer and researching further, I agree this might be
a job for the core product. It seems it would be nice to have a few more
formatting option in addition to TITLE, ALBUM, ARTIST etc. (although,
granted, it's a pretty long list as it stands.)

My suggestions for additional formatting "data elements" would be:

PLAYLIST(for the main part of the playlist filename)

PLAYLIST_EXT (for the file extention of the playlist)

Hopefully these last two would be really easy to add in. One more
"wishlist" formatting option:

RADIOSTREAM_INFO (or whatever it might really be called. It seems Shoutcast
stations, for example, can embed an "identity string" in their broadcast
that gives detailed information about the station you are listening to.
This info is viewable through WinAmp, for example. It would be really cool
to capture that info on the display, if possible.)

Cheers,

RE

Ralph

I uploaded a new release to http://www.herger.net/slim/detail.php?nr=446.
It does not all you wanted, though...

[..]
> PLAYLIST(for the main part of the playlist filename)

This is done...

> PLAYLIST_EXT (for the file extention of the playlist)

....while this isn't. If you have followed this thread you might know, that
the PLAYLIST tag will only work, if you select a playlist to play. Simply
continuing from where you turned your device off won't work.

As I've only been using existing information, I don't have a clue about
how to read this :-).

I also added the option to automatically replace empty ARTIST/ALBUM
strings when listening to streams by the playlist name (if available).
