Hello all, I recently installed the latest Slimserver
binaries on my XP Pro machine. I clicked on the icon,
a splash screen appeared with a 'Starting Up...'
message, and then nothing. It just sits there. No
hard drive activity, no CPU usage, nothing. ZoneAlarm
gave me a popup saying that the program was trying to
access my DNS server, and I authorized the program's
access to the net, but nothing further happened. I
let it sit for half an hour, figuring that perhaps it
might be scanning for music, but given that neither
the CPU nor the drives were working I wasn't holding
much hope. Eventually I just canceled the connection.

Does anyone happen to have a clue about how get the
ball rolling?

Well, I am having the same problem. The player says "Problem. Lost
connection to server..." The services manager says the SlimServer
service is starting, but it appears to be hung up. We originally
thought it was the RealSlim plugin, but mine is disabled, and it still
does it. Up until a couple of weeks ago I had Win2000 and the same
version worked fine there...I'm beginning to think it's an XP issue.
