Hi,

I have very regarly (every minute) dropouts while playing my AAC files
(I have set the bitrate limiter to "no limit"). Slimdevices has stated
on their website this problem is due to the network
availibility/quality. I doubt this. I have an airport express (wifi-G)
with an excellent reception to my computer and an 88% wireless signal
strengh at the squeezebox. I use the Airport express solely for the
squeezebox.

I run the slimserver on a 1800 chip, windows xp, sp2.

Does anybody know why I have the dropout problems and what can I do to
get rid of them?

Any advice is very much appreciated!

Regards, Harm

try your squeezebox while connected with a cable and see if you still have
dropouts or not. That will at least rule out wireless quality. Otherwise, it
is still the most likely suspect. You seem to have plenty of CPU power, but if
you still have trouble wired, then consider your memory usage. Watch the Task
Monitor levels as well while you are playing and see if you see any spikes from
a particular process just before a dropout.
