Hi,

Adding the stream below via the web interface does load it into the
player but it doesn't play, it sits there at 0.

The win2003 box has no firewall running on it.

Steve,

Could you try playing another wma or ogg radio stream to prove the basic
function of socketwrapper works.

Try entering the following in the Internet Radio URL box on the web
pages (select Internet Radio in the help section of the main
page):
mms://vruk.wm.llnwd.net/vruk_vr_hi

Does it play, can you hear it? If not try dissabling any firewall or
privacy service you have running (socketwrapper talks to slimserver as
if it were an internet application)

If all the above works, I can send you a debug version of socketwrapper
to see what may be going on.

Hi everyone,

I've tried for a few hours to get this working without success. I have
Slimserver running on a Win2003 server. I'm using softsqueeze to test
but I've confirmed the same results with my SliMP3

I've installed ActivePerl and the latest ALienBBC beta from mrtickle.org
and followed the instructions. I've installed mplayer as per the
discussion on here recently.

When I run slim.exe --d_plugin I get a couple of entries appear. I'm not
sure if the first one is relevant.

The AlienBBC plugin appears and downloads a list of stream from the
listen again section. When I browse to radio 1 and try to play the Chris
Moyles show, the following appears on screen:

The player time starts counting but no sound comes out and then it stops
and resets to 00 after about 10 seconds.

I've tried to follow the troubleshooting steps but have fallen at the
first hurdle, trying to load http://server:5123.status gives a page
cannot be displayed error.

I'm no perl expert so cannot workout how to troubleshoot this further.
Any ideas?

Cheers

Steve

Try reloading the orginal socketwrapper.exe from slimserver and see if this works with the wma stream (it won't work with AlienBBC).
If not then there is something limiting the normal slimserver playback of music via socketwrapper. We need to understand this
first.

Try debug --d_source --d_remotestream
