As far as I understand, to use artwork, Slimserver is scanning the
directories for appropriate JPGs and is displaying them if available.

I just setup Slimserver on a 2003 server with ~ 700 CDs. I have NO artwork
as JPG in directories but have them included in the first track of each MP3
ID3 tag.

Using the default skin, I navigated to the BROWSE ARTWORK section and to my
surpise I can see 8 album covers. I did not expect to see any so I am
confused. Can Slimserver use the ID3 embedded artwork? If so, why do I see
only 8 out of approx. 700 covers?

Thanks

Matt

please refer to the help section of your slimserver, under technical
information.

As for ahy 8 of 700, try a more recent nightly build. I think 5.4.0 missed
some.

Hmm, yeah I actually have a question along the same lines. I currently
have put artwork in every track. Yet nothing shows up in the browse by
artwork page. I did set it to show place holders. so the albums show
up. I am using the default theme (also tried w/ bagpuss). Tried
rescanning the library as well. However no love. Running on OSX. Also
the coverart can be seen when browsing to an album.

Actually a couple more things I should add, I'm running the nightly from
1/26. I use the latest and greatest itunes. All coverart is stored in
the id3 tags of all tracks in an album.

ah...I see. I'm sure this is one I've already fixed, but I guess it must have
gotten missed when we branched. Can you email me offlist with a link to one of
the songs that isn't showing artwork for you? I'll take a look and track down
the missing bits. iTunes has been known to do some funny stuff with artwork,
so its also possible that the new version has messed something up.
