Charlie, it's a breeze, take about 30 mins, and most of that is
copying the files across; I did this with a 1.44 firmware system
YOU DO NOT NEED TO CHANGE S/W ....

you can find all the info in the 'files' section of the linkstation
general group ...

note however you'll have to make sure all your music is .mp3 as
without the format converters that's really the only format you
can serve off it ...
