Been using SoftSqueeze 1.16 without problem to stream music over the net.
Want to limit the bandwidth but doing so using LAME converter causes
extremely high CPU usage (older server doing several things so this isn't
acceptable). Since I also want to limit the file size (low on disc space),
I figured the best way to achieve this would be to resample my collection
from MP3-256kbps-44.1KHz (MPEG1-L3) to MP3-64kbps-22.05KHz (MPEG2-L3).
Unfortunately, playing these resampled tracks causes the previously
mentioned "chipmunk" effect (playback twice normal speed).

Wasn't this problem fixed some time back? Is this a "bug" or a "limitation"
of SoftSqueeze?

It looks like this is a Softsqueeze bug, I just found a 44100 hard coded
for the MP3 sample rate. I think it will be not too difficult, but time
consuming to fix this. I'll add it to the list, but you'll need to wait
a while.
