For what it is worth, after installing the latest LMS 8.1.2 nightly (8.1.2 - 1612034159 @ Sat Jan 30 20:36:17 CET 2021), I can play the Rachel Maddow podcasts on all my players (see my signature).
This is with proxied streaming enabled for all players.

Thank you. I can confirm that it works again with yesterday's nightly. The title isn't correctly displayed, though. But it's just cosmetics and I suppose it's been already fixed but hasn't arrived here yet.

I have no hint for the title display, it's really normally unrelated to HTTP redirection. The only case AFAIK where squeezelite (the player) interfers with metadata is when ICY (artist/title[/artwork]) sent every XkB of HTTP body in which case it sends such information back to LMS as LMS can't see it in direct mode. I don't know if things are different with squeezeplay (Radio) but I would assume not, the metadata is still an out-of-band which is gathered by the "podcast" plugin through "getMetadataFor"
