An interface to J. Rivers Media Center would be really great as well!

Would anybody else use this if it was available?

I will definately look into it (no $$$ required). It's just a matter of
free time.

Perhaps I can give you my wife's phone number, and you can convince her I
should be on the computer more!!!? Haahaa!

Did this ever get off the ground? I've been googling but couldn't find any mention of a MCE plugin. I'd love to find something like this though!

I am also interested in a MCE plugin.

Does it exist for the moment ?

Is there a MCE plugin for SlimServer or Squeezebox?

There already is a J River plugin - look in the plugins forum. No idea how well it works of course :)

I am working on a J River plugin, consisting of an HTTP server running in JRMC, with an AJAX web front end talking to that and slim server. It's up and running, but has at least 2-3 weeks more development needed before release.

The primary attraction of this is that it will support "multi-level search" on any set of tags you create in JRMC - thus providing a much better experience for classical music browsing.

sounds interesting,
BUT will this JRMC plugin will somehow be compatible with the MCE 2005?

The JRMC plugin will not support MCE, although the architecture is designed to be ported to other music libraries. MCE is not all that interesting to me in that it seems to support only the same limited Genre/Album/Artist/Song view that most music libraries do. JRMC was my first target because it at least allows for user-defined fields (tags) in libraries, thus allowing me to define real schemas for classical, opera, jazz, and other genres that don't neatly fit the pop-oriented world view of iTunes, MCE, SlimServer, et al.

The new SoftSqueeze/Transporter skin is great - just installed it on Vista MCE. Now I am thinking I would like to see this on my Plasma as part of the MCE interface (also reduces wife training overhead - only have to train on Slim for music).

As it is embeddable in a web browser, I would imagine it is quite straightforward for a .net type to do?

Please let me know if you have seen this done
