And a hardware issue.... The "Press-and-Hold the REW button to scan
backwards" and "Press-and-Hold the FWD button to scan forward" functions do
not work on my Squeezebox remote. All other functions seem to work fine.
Files are Apple Lossless on a hard-wired Windows XP Pro network...

Any thoughts? Thank you!

Apple lossless is not a natively decoded format on the Squeezebox. It
has to be transcoded on the server. FF/REW within songs doesn't
currently work with transcoded files.

I have the same problem with Ogg Vorbis files served from a Linux
Pentium II slimserver. Anyone know what's wrong?

it is the same for both cases. Transcoded file formats cannot make use of the
FFWD and REW scanning features. MP3 and WAV are the current native formats.
At this time, only these formats will function with FFWD and REW.
