Wow! Thanks! That's exactly the kind of info I was looking for.

If I'm reading this right, then the left-right-up-down keys are not mapped,
thus making it impossible to navigate the SB menus, right?

Also I would have thunk that somewhere in there, they would have mapped the
"Add" key somewhere.

Thanks tons though. As soon as my new remote arrives, I'll do some
experimenting on my own and report my findings.

According to slimserver/IR/jvc_dvd.ir the add function is
mapped to the record button. However, on my programmable
remote the record button isn't mapped by default for a
JVC DVD, so it doesn't send anything.

Easy enough to fix.
