Wiped the cache, tried playing several different streams... no joy.

I do not have a "custom-convert.conf" file anywhere in the SlimServer
directory structure. Only a "convert.conf" in C:\Program
Files\SlimServer\server. This goes back to my question to Jules about file
and protocol associations. Where does this custom.conf file come from...
It's not in the AlienBBC distibution zip.

Could you try clearing the cache [server settings - performance - wipe cache
] and playing it again (or trying a different stream)

Check you have the custom-convert.conf file in the slimserver directory -
does rtsp show up under file types?

Triode-

>Could you try increasing the timeout for internet radio:
>At: server settings - network - radio station timeout

I increased the timeout to 30 sec from 5. Didn't make a difference. SB
shows "Connecting..", then for a short period (12 secs or so) it shows
"Listen to Radio 1 - PLAY", then stops with "NOW PLAYING - Nothing".

>Also do you see anything after: "Found handler for protocol http"?

No. The SS listing stops there until I select a new stream/file.

As Bill posted... It's almost there. The AlienBBC plugin seems to load
properly and the Alien menu section in SlimServer 5.4.1 lists properly.

I then restart with command line.

Command line: slim --d_parse --d_source ... I get a normal SS parse
listing.

I then try to play a BBC stream (BBC 1 Live in this case) via the remote; I
get the following dump:

The Squeezebox display shows, "Connecting...", then it just goes back to
"Now Playing - Nothing"

I thought this may be a problem with mplayer, so I tried the BBC1 stream
directly to see if mplayer is working.

Mplayer reports:

Hmm... mplayer just opens the stream and exits... Nothing.

I then tried playing a local Real .ram file and mplayer plays it fine.

Very strange. Any ideas?

It is in the alienbbc_0.90.linux_v541.tar.gz

Better still - go and get v0.91 from the 'Beta Releases' page of the
AlienBBC site. I've fixed the
idiot packaging error for the Windows version.
