I made one of these in a spare afternoon, out of a pringles can and some
I put it on one of the arials of my Linksys wireless router and pointed
it at my SlimServer,
which is the other side of most of my central heating system.

To my surprise it significantly improved the signal I was getting!
I went from frequent dropouts and low signal strength to an almost
entirely reliable connection and good to excellent signal.

I just discovered a design for a quick, cheap, and effective parabolic
reflector that not only will supposedly give you 10 to 12 dB of gain but
will help increase your wireless LAN's privacy (i.e. contain it within
house rather than transmitting beyond your property, which was actually
primary objective of the design). It's so quick and easy, it's worth a
before you go out and buy new antennas.
