is there any way to extend the alarmís fade in time to about 20/30 minutes on the logitech squeezebox boom or at the media server, (on a Netgear readynas) as i would like to fade my philips hue lights in with my alarm audio gradually.

No, the value currently is hard-coded to 20s.

thatís a shame it would have been nice addition to my smart home to have the Hue light fade in in the morning with some nature sounds slowly getting louder to wake you gently.
could you point me to how to extend the alarm to 20 seconds

Its already hardcoded to 20seconds.
btw: lets think about the end is like Volume up to 100%
30(min) / 100(percent) = 0.33 percent per minute
that means in 3 minutes the Volume must jump from 0.0 Mute to 1% - that means you wouldnt hear anything unless ... minutes (depends on your amp)
Some things sometimes doesnt make sense.

that was the point to have the sound fade in so gradually that you wouldn’t notice until it woke you, i mean it doesn’t just go from the middle of the night to the middle of the day it gradually gets brighter i understand 20/30min maybe to long it was just a starting point to dial the philips hue lights and the sound in together

I think a modified versionof Peter Watkins Sleepfade plugin is what you want (i.e. fade in and not fade out) but Peter's repo has not been available for a good while. IIRC Ralphy took backups of some of Peterw's plugins.
