Yep, I'm thinking that I'm going to have to do that... only problem is
there are two user accounts (one Admin, one non-admin) who both need it
to start up. Can you multi install slimserver and for each user account
set it to 'when I log in'?

The HD is set up as an iTunes folde, called iTunes, can't get any more
top level than that!

I can't see why not. After all, different users can have different
preferences in general, and you might well be set up so that one user
logs out and another logs in.
