View Full Version : cannot add Podcast

Hi all,

I am using the Podcast plugin and in general everything works fine, as it should.

Now there is a podcast I enjoy listening to a lot and it works with Android apps like Podcast Addict without a problem.
The link is http://www.kuechenstud.io/lagedernation/feed/mp3/

But whenever I am trying to add this to the list of podcasts I get the error:
"Ungültiger Feed - Fehler beim Auslesen ".

Any idea what this is due to and what can be done about it?

Cheers,

Merc

Are you using a really recent nightly build? This is using https - which
likely requires a nightly 7.7.6 or 7.9.1 build. You might need to
install the IO::Socket::SSL module if you weren't on Windows or macOS.

Hi Michael,

I am running this version: Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.1 - 1504317335 @ Mon Sep 4 22:13:00 UTC 2017
on a Synology NAS.

Should this be working or would I have to update or use a Beta (which I normally try to avoid)?

Thanks,

Merc

I think that should be fine. Let's check your server.log first. Please
uploade it here (See Settings/Information).

This is what I found in the log:

Does this help?

Hmm... it's a problem with the XML itself. I'm not sure whether it's
invalid, or whether we're being overly picky. The fact that this is a
new issue makes me believe the file might be wrong. The w3c's RSS
validator mentions that the channel's image element would be three or
more properties. In that particular feed it is a list of image items. If
I read the spec correctly, then I believe the file is invalid. Yet it
passes that validator...

https://validator.w3.org/feed/docs/rss2.html#ltimagegtSubelementOfLtchannelgt

I could easily find a work-around for this issue. But it would require
you to update your LMS. You might want to check that option. Keep in
mind that what you're running already is "beta". Today's build isn't any
less stable.

Hi Michael,

yes indeed I had realized that I went the Beta way, had forgotten about it.

Would you think it makes sense to ask the guys who run the podcast if they could change something or is this a LMS issue?

The built I am usind is not causing any issues or trouble. In general I would be fine with another update.

Again thanks for the super quick response and your help!!

Much appreciated.

As I said in my previous posting I believe that their 'image' property
is slightly out of spec. It should be a single item, but is a list of
image definitions instead. Please ask them to see whether this was an
accidental change on their end.
